March Madness parlay party — anyone else still hurting?

Real talk — I put together a 7-leg parlay for the Sweet Sixteen weekend (Houston ML, Duke -4.5, Bama ML, UConn -8, Tennessee +2, Purdue -3, BYU ML). Was riding a +$2,400 ticket into the Bama game and Auburn ran the floor on me. The whole thing collapsed in 18 minutes.

Anyone else with a postmortem to share? I'm trying to figure out if I'm wired wrong or if everyone's doing this. Mostly I just want to commiserate before I throw money at the women's Final Four to chase.

I funded the whole tilt-run on Bovada because their tournament reload bonus was decent, which made the loss feel about 20% worse honestly.

Seven legs is your problem, not Auburn. The math on a 7-leg parlay at -110 average juice is somewhere around 1.3% true win probability. The +odds make it feel like value but you're paying about 35% house edge by the time you've stacked that many correlated outcomes.

Not piling on, I've done worse. Last year I had a 9-leg Champ Week ticket lose on a free throw in the Atlantic Sun final. The cope is real.

Lost $180 same weekend on a 4-team round robin. The math hurts but I won 2/3 the round robin so the bleed was only $60 ish. I've been using Super Slots for tournament time, they have round-robin builder native which makes the damage less catastrophic when one leg cracks.

Next year I'm doing single-leg props only during the tourney. Telling myself that now while sober.
